"Crank" Kristina Georgia Change

Kristina Georgia is the main character of the book, in the first part of the book she is just a kinda quiet girl who keeps to herself. She isnt known much by people in her Highschool in Reno Nevada. Then she goes to live with her dad for the summer in Albequerque, which turns out to be one of the worst decisons that she makes. I say this because when she moves in with her dad Kristina falls for a local boy named Adam who also goes by Buddy. Its crazy because Kristina also goes by another name to people who dont really knowe her, which is her bad side Bree. She kinda has a sort of Clyde and Jeckle thing going on. Kristina falls for Buddy although, he has a girlfriend. He introduces her to Meth, which forever changes the person she is. "Crank" or the monster slowly starts to take over her, especially when she gets depressed or something. She starts to use the drug more and more heavily meanwhile deserting her friends and blowing off her family."Crank" has changed Kristina from this quiet young girl to a wild teenager seeking attention and ready to party and "Crank" at any moment. The choice Kristina made to try meth will forever change her as a person.

As I continue reading the book "Crank", Im starting to feel more and more uneasy and concerned about the main character Kristina or Bree as she call herself. The young girl continues to fall deeper and deeper into deception and drug abuse. At and early point in the book she does methanphetamine pr "Crank" with her father. At that point I realized this book is going to get really crazy. I would never do something like that with my kid if i ever have any. It just blows my mind that even her own father would let her fall and do one of the most dangerous drugs out there today. I mean i can see her father didn't have a great upbringing or even a good life for that matter. Even if that is the case you just dont do meth with your kid. Its sad to see that this girl is just looking for love in all the wrong places. I know this happens in real life all the time, meaning kids turning to drugs in place of the love that they are seeking. The main emotion i am feeling at this moment is sadness for this young lady. Meth is no joke, and she prolly will not be able to beat the drug. Im going to continue to read "Crank"and see if she can beat the "Monster"

The book "Crank" has me itching to want and read more of the book already, and im not even that far into it yet. The book is already filled with alot of sexual refrences and major drug abuse. The main cahracter is a girl named Kristina Georgia Snow. My first opinion of the girl is that she is crazy, just because of the simple fact that she goes by and alter ego. "Bree" is Kristinas alter ego and that is basically her "wild" or "bad" side. It seems that she basically hates her life and whenever things go bad or not her way she turns into "Bree". She tells the reader in the begining of the book that she basically no longer has no family and feels alone. Kristina also come off to me as a girl seeking attention because she does not like the way her life is. Kristina seems to be a typical teenage girl that hang around with the wrong people, because she wants to feel wanted or seeks attention.The bad decisions that Kristina Snow had mad will lead her to fall deeper and deeper for the monster or "Crank"

Guided Response- Liar

The book Liar was an ok novel,but not something that I would recommend for everyone out there. Personally I did not like the book much, beacause of the constant lieing by the main character Micha Wilkins. Not to take anything away from the book, It had it's interesting moments. For instance when Micha told the readers she was a werewolf. Myself I don't beleive in werewolves so i thought that lie was really weird and not necessary. The lie was so weird that it got to the point that I did'nt trust one thing she told me. The book was good in ways though, it was definetely a page turner and kept the reader enticed. I just dont like to read a book and know whats true and what is not true. Thats basically the whole reason I did not enjoy the book all the way through to the end. Truthfully, The ending is what made me dislike the book the most out of everything else. The reason that I say this is because,You never do learn of what Micha lies to the you about. That kind of left me scratching my head, because i would have liked to known about some of the things she lied about. Then again the book is calle LIAR so i should have expected alot of lies, I just did not enjoy reading about all her lies though. With all that being said I personally would not reccommend this book but what do I know.

When on the topic of reading in school and reading out of school, I am definetely a much more effective reader in school. My reason for saying this is, I have a hard time paying attention to books unless im doing a class reading. Also in school im already focused on doing the work that was assigned to me.There are just so many temptations for me outside of school and i get side tracked. I would like to do more reading outside of school, but thats just not me and i dont know if I will ever be a consistant reader outside of class. On the other hand I am willing to work at it, because everyone know reading builds knowledge and thats the sole reason I came to college. Also I do not have a problem with reading outside of school, I kinda just go through these spells of laziness. If it wasnt for having time to read at school i would be in lots of trouble. Hopefully I can fight through wanting to be lazy and get my readings done in a timely fashion. As of now I prefer to get my reading done at school, but through taking Reading 104 maybe one day I will like to read outside of school as well.

Title Definetely Fits!

The title of the book Liar definetely fits and goes along with whats happening in the book. It makes all the since in the world. At first I thought it was kind of a lame and boring title for all the praise the book was getting when we chose what book to read. The book did get most of the votes i but i was still a little unsure about this book. I can now say that after reading most of the book that any different title for the book wouldnt flow with it or be right to me. Literally the book is basically all a lie, and its just so hard to point out whats true and whats not. It seems as if the author is playing a game with the reader. I say this because you find out that Michas little brother is all made up, and Micha says she does it just to see if she could get away with making up a real person. Honestly i beleived in and was kinda shocked and sort of disheartened to keep reading i mean what is real? Everything that she claims happened in reality for the most part is a straight up lie. The title to me is still kind of boring, but i understand why the author chose it. It is a very appropriate title Micha Wilkins is a pathelogical LIAR!

Micha Change

Through page 165 in the book liar, the book actually has kept me more engaged and interested then i orginally thought it would. I have learned alot about the main character Micha Wilkins, and she has changed some since the intro of the book. The reason i say this is becuase she has recently showed the ability to tell the truth about some details dealing with Zachary Rubin and his mysterious death. Although Micha lied to the police about knowing Zach once she actually goes to his funeral i see a change in her. Before it didnt seem like she really cared what people thought or the fact that she was helping Zach cheat on his girlfriend Sarah. After her Tayshawn and Sarah all ditch the funreral, beacuase they couldnt take being at the funereal Tayshawn takes them to spots where him and Zach used to hang. It was during this moment when Micha and Sarah open up more about Zach to eachother and Micha finally admits to sarah she would would go running with Zach and sneak around and see him during the weekend. This admission sort of surprised me because Micha just kept to her self about Zach, and never really bothered to talk to Sarah or anyone about wat her and Zach were. I can just tell that Micha is starting to open up more with Tayshawn and Sarah especially to sort of help cope with his death.

Liar!

The main character of the book LIAR is Micha Wilkens, she is a ver interesting and odd girl.The book describes Micha as a compulsive liar which she says is a hereditary gene she inherited from her father.She often lies but then goes back and tells the reader she is telling the truth so it definelty catches you off guard. In my opinion Micha is weird beacuase of the things that she lies about. One preticular lie she made was telling some of the other students that she is half boy and half girl, which is known as a hermaphrodite. A teacher of hers had her mistakin for a boy so she just decided to go along with it. She kind of uses the lie in a way to meet friends because she doesn not have any friends. Micha is a very shy person who seems to just keep to her self and it doesnt even seem like she wants to make friends. Micha meets three people out of this lie though and one of the people is a guy named Zach Rubin. Micha also lies about her relationship with Zach Rubin especially when he comes up missing and turns out to have been murdered. So far in the book i am pretty critical of Micha Wilkins because of the plethora of lies she tells. The book always has me confused becuase i dont know what she is telling the truth about. Im only on page 65 in the book and i couldnt even tell you how many lies Micha has told but im interested to see what other interesting lies she will tell next.

Week 3. Reading improvement

I cant really say that i am an excellent reader,or even like to read for that matter. Reading is a practice that takes undevided attention and honestly im a easily distracted person. I have no problem with reading at all though, the book just has to be somethig interesting enough to keep me focused on it. Since highschool i have read only one book but im sure with taking reading 104 comes plenty of reading. The types of books i prefer would have to be non fiction types of book, but im really open to reading almost anything. Biographys are also great reads that keep my attention for days, and ill read biographys over and over again as crazy as that sounds. One of my favorite bios would have to be the Michael Jordan bio that i have read about five times now. Jordan is in my mind the greatest player to ever play the game of baketball, and its nice to get to know more about his personal life and the things he did behind the scenes. He actually is still a pretty heavy gambler and plays alot of golf which i found pretty interesting. When i am finished in reading 104 my goal is to look at my instructor Miss Stephanie Scott, and tell her my reading ability has improved drastically.
